TrackC19 app design
In mid-2020 during the Covid crisis, Trust Power was tasked with designing a tracking app, which would advise users if they'd been in contact with someone who was infected by the virus and therefore would need to self-isolate.During this strange and stressful period of time, working on this app seemed really important and useful. I wanted to design the product to be clear and easy to use, to minimise any stress which a user might encounter.
The user would create an account and then select their Covid-19 status. Depending and their status, the app would then advise them what to do next. We’d also ask a user to import their phone contacts to help with contacting people in their should need to inform them of any change in their Covid-19 status.
If a user marked themself as having been exposed to the Covid-19 virus, the app would prompt them to contact everyone they’d been in contact with during the past week and let them know. We’d also advise the user to self-isolate.
Depending on the user’s Covid-19 status, the Dashboard screen would change. It would encourage the user to keep the app updated with their status, or advise them how much longer they’d need to self-isolate if they’ve been exposed to the virus.
There was also a feature to Track your meetings, which would result in a timeline of your movements and people you’ve met, so that if your Covid-19 status should change, the app would make it easy to contact everyone you’ve been in contact with so that they could self-isolate.
The app was approved for use by the University of Exeter, and was designed in conjunction with a team of data scientists.
